Miðeind had the great pleasure of receiving the main Ský IT awards, that were awarded at the UTmessan earlier today.

The awards are given for Miðeind’s contribution to Icelandic language technology and artificial intelligence, as well as our successful collaboration with OpenAI on supporting Icelandic in their LLMs.

Awards are also granted in various subcategories, and there were many worthy nominations this year.

Miðeind has previously been nominated for the UT Awards as the UT-Newcomer in 2020 for the voice assistant app Embla.

This is a great honor for the company, and we would like to thank everyone who has helped make Miðeind what it is today. Miðeind currently employs probably the largest group of experts in artificial intelligence and language technology in the country, and it is incredibly important to have that combined force to achieve goals.

The awards are a tremendous incentive to continue on the same path; to support the Icelandic community and language by developing forward-looking solutions in language technology and artificial intelligence.
