Last week, our friends at OpenAI rolled out a new, exciting feature for their GPT-like models - Assistant API. Like OpenAI, we at Miðeind see great potential in specialized conversational agents that extract information from existing databases and use it to generate coherent answers in natural language. That is why we have spent the last few months working on our own exciting solution, which has been named Svarkur and is specifically tailored to the Icelandic language, with its characteristics and challenges. Svarkur uses Miðeind's self-trained embeddings model for Icelandic to find the information in a database that best answers the user's question and provides them in a concise and clear form. Svarkur is available through an application programming interface (API) or as an extension to our powerful question answering solution partner Cludo, which also boasts an attractive interface and advanced analytics tools.

In celebration of the Day of the Icelandic Language, we have put together a short video, based on our demo version of Svarkur, to showcase the tool's capabilities and provide insight into what is to come.
