Miðeind's machine translation offers translations between Icelandic and English using neural network technology. Many are familiar with systems like Google Translate and Microsoft Translator, which support Icelandic reasonably well. These systems use general translation engines for all types of text.
Miðeind's translation engine stands up to them for general text, but excels when it comes to specialized domains, thanks to the possibility of custom-training the engine on texts from that specific field. With this in mind, Miðeind has collaborated with, among others, the Translation Centre of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to develop a specialized translation engine for their projects, which has exceeded expectations.
